So far this year (through November 16), 38 tornadoes have been documented in Wisconsin. Fifteen of those occurred in northeast and north-central Wisconsin.
Eight of the tornadoes in 2011 were rated as "strong" (EF2 or EF3 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale), and one tornado had a path length of 64 miles! One person was killed by a tornado near Wausaukee.
