2011 Northeast Wisconsin Tornadoes

Fifteen tornadoes have been confirmed this year in the NWS Green Bay service area of northeast Wisconsin (22 counties), through the end of August. This is about twice the long-term average for the area.  On April 10 alone, ten tornadoes occurred in northeast Wisconsin, a single day record tornado outbreak for the area.

The highest number of tornadoes in one year in northeast Wisconsin was 23, which occurred in 2005.

In Wisconsin, 37 tornadoes have been documented in 2011. The 30-year average is 23 for an entire year.
