Ice on Southern Waters of Green Bay Breaks Up

Mild temperatures and persistent south to southwest winds have caused the ice on the southern waters of Green Bay to break up and drift north.

Here is a brief animation from the polar orbiting satellite MODIS instrument showing the ice breakup on January 7 and 8.
