Green Bay

At Green Bay, the average temperature for September was 60.9 degrees or 1.7 degrees above normal for the month.  The precipitation total for the month was 2.89 inches which was just short of the normal of 3.04 inches.

 

Wausau

The average temperature for September was 60.9 degrees, or 2.4 degrees above normal for the month. The precipitation total for the month was 2.76 inches, or 1.15 inches below normal.

At Rhinelander, the average temperature for the month was 56.6 degrees, or 1.1 degrees above normal.   The precipitation total for the month was 2.12 inches, or 2.08 inches below normal for the month. 

Overall, temperatures averaged a few degrees above normal and precipitation was below normal across Wisconsin. 

Looking ahead to October, normal highs at the beginning of the month are in the upper 50s to middle 60s, falling to the upper 40s and lower 50s by the 31st. Normal lows at the beginning of the month are in the upper 30s to middle 40s, falling to the upper 20s to middle 30s by the end of the month.  Usually, the first snow flakes of the season are seen, especially across the north.  There have been some significant accumulating snowfalls as early as early October across the north. During the month, we lose about an hour and a half of daylight. By the end of the month, sunset will be before 6 pm.
