A cold front will track into Southwest Lower Michigan today. This front will encounter a warm and unstable airmass. The combination of day time heating and colder air coming in at mid levels is expected to lead to thunderstorm. Some of these storms could be severe...with damaging winds and large hail the primary threats. An isolated tornado is possible. The storms could begin by noon along the lakeshore...then spread east through early afternoon. Any of the thunderstorms through today could contain frequent lightning and briefly very heavy rainfall. The main storm motion will be southeast at 25 mph.
