Severe Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain Possible through Tonight

Thunderstorms are expected today and tonight mainly across southern lower Michigan.  Some of these thunderstorms could be severe with damaging winds and heavy rain the primary threats.  The most likely time frame for stronger thunderstorms and heavy rain being between 5 pm and 2 am.  Rapid movement from the thunderstorms is expected and the main motion will be east at 50 mph.  If you have outdoor plans today...especially in the area south of a line from South Haven to Jackson, pay close attention to the weather today and tonight.  Mariners in the southern end of Lake Michigan are also recommended to monitor the situation closely due to the thunderstorm threat and rapid movement of any potential storms.

A flood watch has been posted through Sunday morning for the area along and south of Interstate 94.
