Lake Effect Snow Advisory Today

A Lake Effect Snow Advisory remains in effect for Ottawa, Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana, Mason, and Lake Counties through 4 PM this afternoon.  Expect an additional 2 to 4 inches today within the advisory area, for a storm total of 3 to 6 inches.  An inch or two of accumulation is likely outside of the advisory area today. Snow covered roads and reduced visibilities are anticipated. If driving, be prepared for variable conditions with whiteouts possible.

West winds will gust up to 25 mph today, causing the low water content snow to blow around and holding wind chill temperatures down around zero.

Below is a graphic that depicts storm total snowfall, which includes both last night and today.

The highest totals will be across western Ottawa, Muskegon, Oceana, and Mason Counties.  This is where some of the 5" or 6" amounts are possible.
