The image above is a visibile satellite image taken from Saturday afternoon with Michigan centered in the image. The snowfall from the storm system that moved through the area late on Tuesday and into Wednesday shows up very well. The snowfall is the white area across central and northern lower Michigan, north of a line from near Shelby in Oceana County, to just south of the Flint area.

South of that line, the ground is much darker where precipitation was in the form of mainly rain and freezing rain. Very little, if any snow fell across southern areas from the last storm.

The spotty white area across far southeast lower Michigan near Detroit is an area of cumulus clouds. The white area over Lake Erie is lake ice.
