Flooding continues in some areas

Smaller rivers and streams have crested, but minor to moderate flooding is occurring and will continue to occur on the following rivers where a Flood Warning is in effect:

  • Grand River near Comstock Park
  • Grand River at Robinson Township
  • Muskegon River at Evart
  • Muskegon River at Croton
  • Maple River at Maple Rapids
  • Portage River at Vicksburg

In addition, there are numerous flood advisories in effect for area rivers where bankfull has been exceeded but flood stage should not be reached.  If you live along or near these rivers under a warning, be advised that the rivers are running quite high and flooding is expected.  Fortunately, additional rainfall this weekend is expected to be light and will consequently not affect the river levels.  Neighborhoods prone to flooding along these rivers will need to continue taking proper precautions.  These rivers are expected to crest over the next several days, and dry weather into next week will help the rivers fall below flood stage.
