Severe Weather Possible on Tuesday

The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma has placed Lower Michigan under a slight risk for severe weather for Tuesday and Tuesday Evening. Below is the latest Severe Weather Outlook for Tuesday.

The way that the thunderstorms will affect the area is still a bit uncertain. A batch of thunderstorms are expected to develop across Northern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan overnight tonight. This complex is expected to move into Northeast Lower Michigan and Lake Huron during the day on Tuesday. If this complex takes more of a turn to the south, it will affect the area Tuesday morning and early afternoon.

If we get the thunderstorms in the morning to early afternoon hours, this will lower our severe weather across the area. If the area sees some sunshine, and no thunderstorms through early afternoon, we will see much warmer temperatures and the severe weather threat will be much higher Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday evening as a cold front moves through. Below is a weather map for late Tuesday afternoon.

The biggest severe weather threat will be damaging winds. A tornado will also be possible.
