Severe Thunderstorms Possible Today

A cold front will sweep through Southwest Lower Michigan this afternoon and evening. Along and ahead of the front showers and thunderstorms are expected, some of which may be severe. A couple different rounds of storms may occur. The first round of storms will move through Southwest Lower Michigan between 800am and 100pm. A second round of storms may sweep through the area during the afternoon and early evening hours. The main threat from storms today will be damaging wind gusts in excess of 60 mph. Locally heavy rain is also likely with storms today. In addition, the strongest of storms will be capable of producing hail to around three quarters of an inch in diameter.
