Strong Thunderstorms Possible Today/Tonight

A strong cold front will be sliding through Southwest Lower Michigan this evening and tonight, bringing with it some much cooler air but also some scattered strong thunderstorms as well.  An isolated  severe storm is possible.

  • Threat: Strongest storm could contain hail to 1" in diameter and strong wind gusts around 50 mph.  Cloud to ground lightning and some heavy downpours will accompany any storm.
  • Timing/Location: Late afternoon for west central Lower Michigan.  Later this afternoon and into late tonight for the rest of Lower Michigan.
  • Storm Motion: Approximately ENE at 35 mph.
