Snow showers are expected continue through the night tonight. For the most part the snow showers will be light. The strongest snow showers will be late this evening into the early morning hours of Tuesday near US-131. Below is the snowfall forecast from one of our high resolution short term models. It shows the heaviest accumations, near an inch, over northern Kent County. This is related to how warm the lake currently is (South Buoy was 50 degrees at 6 PM) and the strong west winds. By drive time Tuesday morning we currently do not expect there to be any accumultions on road surfaces. Still there could be a few slippery spots in areas where the strongest snow showers occured since we do expect the low temperature tonight to be below freezing across the area.
