Winter Weather Advisory This morning

There is a winter weather advisory in effect for most of Southwest Lower Michigan (purple area on map below) from 8 PM Friday night through 11 AM Today (Figure 1).

-  Roads may be icy with bridges and overpasses likely experiencing the greatest impact.

-  A period of moderate to heavy snow will taper off early this morning.  Temperatures will continue to fall below freezing.

-  Total snowfall by 11 AM is expected to be in range of 1 to 3 inches (Figure 2) with areas near I-96 receiving the greatest snowfall amounts.

-  Accumulating snow will largely be done by 7 AM but less traveled roads may remain snow covered and icy until late morning.
