River Flood Information

Many smaller streams and rivers have crested from recent heavy rains and the Grand River will be gradually cresting from east to west through Monday.  At Ionia, the Grand is cresting today.  This crest will work its way downstream to Lowell, Ada, Comstock Park, Grand Rapids, and into Ottawa County.  The flooding will range from moderate to record stage.  Many reports of flooding are occurring as the river continues to rise.  Pay heed to road closures and evacuations as the situation continues to unfold.

Below are the forecast crests for selected locations:

 

Ionia - 24.7 feet (occuring today and tonight)

Lowell - Around 19.5 feet (Sunday morning)

Ada - Around 23.0 feet (Sunday morning)

Comstock Park - Around 18.0 feet (Sunday night)

Grand Rapids - Around 22.7 feet (Early Monday morning)

Robinson Township in Ottawa County - Around 18.0 feet (Early Tuesday morning)

 

In addition, the Muskegon, Thornapple, Chippewa, and Pine Rivers are continuing to flood.  Crests have already occurred or will by the end of the weekend.  High water is over roads in some locations.
