Moderate flooding continues along portions of the Illinois River

The Illinois River has crested at Henry, Peoria, Havana and Beardstown. Over the next week...river levels will continue to fall.


HENRY, IL   (click here for the latest stage info and forecast)

  • THE RIVER CRESTED AT 31.10 FEET IN THE EVENING OF FRIDAY 9/19.
  • THIS WAS THE 3RD HIGHEST STAGE ON RECORD AT HENRY AND THE HIGHEST SINCE MARCH 22, 1982.
  • THE RECORD RIVER STAGE IS 32.7 FEET WHICH SET ON MARCH 22 1979.

  • THE RIVER CRESTED AT 27.06 FEET IN THE EVENING OF FRIDAY 9/19.
  • THIS WAS THE 6TH HIGHEST STAGE ON RECORD AT PEORIA...AND THE HIGHEST SINCE MARCH 23 1982.  
  • THE RECORD LEVEL AT PEORIA IS 28.8 FEET SET ON MAY 23 1943.

  • THE RIVER CRESTED AT 23.54 FEET ON TUESDAY MORNING 9/23.
  • THIS WAS THE 7TH HIGHEST STAGE ON RECORD AT HAVANA.
  • THE RECORD RIVER STAGE IS 27.10 FEET WHICH SET ON MARCH 9 1985 AND MAY 26 1943.

Flooding pictures below were taken on 9/23...river stage at Havana was 23.5 feet.  

        

         


BEARDSTOWN, IL   (click here for the latest stage info and forecast)

  • THE RIVER CRESTED AT 24.97 FEET ON WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON (9/24).
  • THIS IS THE 15TH HIGHEST CREST ON RECORD.
  • THE RECORD RIVER STAGE IS 29.60 FEET WHICH SET ON MAY 26 1943.
