...OBSERVED TEMPERATURES FALLS FROM OCTOBER 25...

A STRONG COLD FRONT TURNED THE WEATHER FROM SUMMER TO FALL IN A

MATTER OF HOURS ON THURSDAY OCTOBER 25.  STRONG SOUTHERLY WINDS AND

PARTLY SUNNY SKIES ALLOWED TEMPERATURES TO SOAR TO WITHIN A FEW

DEGREES OF RECORD HIGHS BY MID AFTERNOON...IN A 75-80 DEGREE RANGE.

THE SHARP COLD FRONT MOVED INTO WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS BY MID

AFTERNOON.  WESTERLY WINDS GUSTING OVER 25 MPH BEHIND THE

BOUNDARY QUICKLY TRANSPORTED A CANADIAN AIRMASS INTO THE REGION.

THIS CAUSED TEMPERATURES TO PLUMMET INTO THE 40S BY THE EARLY

EVENING HOURS.  THE TABLE BELOW SUMMARIZES ONE HOUR...TWO HOUR...AND

FOUR HOUR TEMPERATURE FALLS AT SELECTED ASOS...AWOS...AND AWSS SITES

ACROSS THE AREA. THE LARGE DIFFERENCE IN ONE HOUR CHANGE IS DUE TO
