National Weather Service Weather Forecast Office

Technicians have completed the dual-polarization upgrade to the WSR-88D radar north of Evansville, IN (KVWX), and the radar has been returned to service.  This radar covers southeast parts of Illinois, including around Effingham, Flora, and Lawrenceville.  A similar upgrade to the Lincoln radar was completed in early October.
