Light Icing Possible From I-74 North early Thursday Morning

Graphical depiction of the weather story for today.

Rain is expected to overspread Central and Southeast Illinois ahead of a storm system late Wednesday night and early Thursday Morning. There will be the potential for a brief period of light freezing rain and sleet on the leading edge of the precipitation along and north of Interstate 74. Temperatures will warm rapidly shortly after daybreak, ending the potential for icing. Those traveling to work or school early Thursday from Peoria to Bloomington-Normal may experience slippery conditions, especially on untreated roads, bridge decks and sidewalks.
