...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FOR PARTS OF CENTRAL ILLINOIS LATE MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY...

Another winter storm threatens the region late Monday night into Tuesday bringing snow to areas along and west of the Illinois River, with a wintry mix of snow and freezing rain over central through east central Illinois and rain over the remainder of the area. The main impacts from this storm will not be felt until late Monday evening in areas north of Interstate 72 and during the early morning hours of Tuesday further north. Current indications suggest the potential for around 6 inches of snow west of the Illinois River with up to a tenth of an inch of ice just to the east and south of the main snow band. The drive into work or school Tuesday morning will be a slow one over parts of west central through east central Illinois.
