Driest Start for the Month of May at Indianapolis in 22 years.

Measurable rainfall has not fallen at the Indianapolis airport or in any of central and southern Indiana through May 8.  For the Indianapolis area, this is the 12th such occurrence for the first eight days of May since weather records began in 1871 and the first since 1992.  After a wet month of April, Indiana farmers are taking advantage of the current dry spell.

Rain will return to Indiana on Friday.   The latest forecast indicates a chance of rain each day through Tuesday.
