String of 90 Degree Days Ended

90 degree streak ends at 14 Days


The temperature reached a high of 85 on Tuesday (August 14).  This ends the streak of 90 degrees or more days at 14.

The last time Indianapolis had 14 consecutive days of 90 degrees or higher was during July 1983.  Fourteen or more consecutive days with highs of at least 90 is a rare occurrence.  Since records began for the Indianapolis area back in 1871, there have only been 6 other instances where such a streak occurred.

 

The all time record for most days of 90 or better in the Indianapolis area is 19 consecutive days, during the blistering hot month of August 1936.
