Indianapolis Radar Sees Cars on Interstate

Atmospheric conditions allowed the Indianapolis Doppler Weather Radar to see motion from cars on nearby interstates. The radar cannot distinguish individual vehicles, but it can detect motion from the moving vehicles. In the picture below, inside the yellow boxes are examples of this feature on Interstates 465 and 70. Green colors indicate motion toward the radar, while red colors indicate motion away from the radar.
