Strong Winds of Dec 27-28

A strong cold front brought gusty winds to Central Indiana on December 27 and early December 28. Below is a list of peak wind gusts from selected stations across Central Indiana from the evening of December 27 to the early morning of December 28:

Ahead of the cold front on December 27, the gusty winds brought in very warm air. The high temperature of 68 at the Indianapolis International Airport  set a new record for December 27, and the low temperature of 56 broke a 101 year old record for warmest low temperature for the date. The average temperature for the entire day was a whopping 34 degrees above the normal average temperature for the date.
