On this date in 1965, the Palm Sunday Tornado outbreak occurred. It was the deadliest in state history. 10 tornadoes struck 18 counties in the north and central parts of Indiana. Seven of the tornadoes were killers, and between 4:45 PM to a little after 6:30 PM, the tornadoes left 137 dead and 1724 injured. A tornado that struck Goshen took the wing of an airplane and left it 35 miles away in Centreville Michigan.
