Coolest 4th of July on Record

Coolest 4th of July on Record at Indianapolis

Under cloudy skies and with a persistent rain all day, the high temperature at the Indianapolis International Airport only reached 70 degrees on the 4th of July. This broke the record for coolest high temperature on the 4th of July.

If this seems familiar, that's because it is. The previous record for the day was 71 degrees, set just last year.

The normal high for July 4 is 85 degrees. Today's high of 70 would be normal for a day in early May. Temperature records at Indianapolis began in 1871.
