The National Weather Service in Indianapolis, IN will be conducting a training session for becoming a CoCoRaHS observer and giving out free rain gauges on Wednesday, May 12 from 2:00-3:00 PM to those who sign up!
CoCoRaHS is the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail & Snow Network, which is a huge national network of volunteer weather observers who take daily precipitation measurements and report their data online for natural resource, education, and research applications. Being a CoCoRaHS observer is fun, easy, rewarding, and FREE! To become a member, all you need is some brief training on how to perform measurements and report your data, in addition to obtaining an official CoCoRaHS rain gauge. Rain gauges are available online for purchase, but will be given out for FREE if you come to the training session!
For more details about the CoCoRaHS program, please visit (www.cocorahs.org). If you are interested in attending or have any questions, then please contact Adam Baker (Adam.Baker@noaa.gov) for more information. Only 10 spots are available for the session, so hurry to get signed up!
