The first Winter storm of the season is expected to bring a mix of accumulating sleet and snow to Central Indiana Thursday night...transitioning to all snow by Friday. The snow will be ending Friday evening but not before several inches of snow and sleet fall...especially near and south of Interstate 70...where a Winter Storm Watch is in effect Thursday night to Friday evening. 4 to 7 inches of snow and sleet are expected there with 2 to 4 inches further north. Additional minor snow accumulations are possible Sunday and Sunday night ahead of another southwest system.
In between systems...Saturday will be cold and dry with highs only in the 20s and lows in the teens. Sunday will not be quite as cold with highs in the upper 20s and lower 30s and lows in the 20s.
