Earliest Autumn Freeze in 11 years and near Record Rainfall since August

The morning low temperature of 31 degrees at the airport on Monday was the earliest freezing weather for September and October since 2001.  On October 7, 2001 the airport recorded a reading of 30 degrees.  The earliest freeze for autumn is 30 degrees set on September 30, 1899.

The airport received another 1.03 inches of rainfall on Friday.  The total rainfall measured since August 1st now stands at 16.00 inches…a near record.  Only in 1989 did the airport receive more rainfall with 16.11 inches.  This follows a record low rainfall of 6.98 inches for the April 1st -July 31st period.
