The 2014 Fire Weather season has ended across Lower Michigan effective Friday November 7th. The season is rapidly winding down across northern Indiana and northwestern Ohio as many of the leaves have fallen and all signs point towards unseasonably cold air arriving by Wednesday. Planning forecasts will only be issued every morning across the remaining counties as noted above. The fire weather season will likely wrap up around November 15th and then resume in the spring of 2014.
Fire weather related grids will remain populated and available through the end of Novmeber to support the State of Ohio DNR fall fire weather season which extends through Nov 30, as well for other agencies that plan any late burn activities. Routine population of these grids will then end at the same time and only be available upon request of appropriate official requests.
Feel free to send any questions, comments or concerns related to the fire weather program to the Fire Weather Program Leader for the Northern Indiana office.
