A ridge of high pressure across the central and eastern United States brought a blast of late summer heat to the northern Indiana, southwest lower Michigan and northwest Ohio areas. This broke the daily record warm low temperature of 72F set in 1983. This also ranked as T-3rd warmest September low temperature on record. The low at Fort Wayne was 73F, which tied the daily record warm low temperature set in 1947. This also ranked as the T-6th warmest September low temperature on record.
