Rare Back to Back Years With Below Zero Temperatures

The temperature at the Jackson National Weather Service Office fell to one below zero this morning (January 8, 2015). In January 2014 the temperature fell below zero 4 times.

2014 and 2015 marks the first time in nearly 30 years the temperature has fallen below zero at Jackson in back to back years. The last time the temperature fell below zero in back to back years was 1985 and 1986. The following table shows dates for all below zero temperatures recorded at Jackson since records began in 1981.
