JACKSON WEATHER OFFICE AND THE LONDON CORBIN AIRPORT. WHILE LONDON
FINISHED DECEMBER 2006 OVER 5 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL...JACKSON ENDED
UP LAST MONTH 6 DEGREES WARMER. DECEMBER 2006 TIED AS THE 6TH
WARMEST AT LONDON...WHILE LAST MONTH WAS THE 3RD WARMEST DECEMBER AT
JACKSON. ONCE AGAIN...DRY CONDITIONS WERE PRESENT ACROSS EASTERN
KENTUCKY WITH LONDON NEARLY 2 INCHES DRIER THAN NORMAL...AND JACKSON
NEARLY TWO AND A QUARTER INCHES BELOW NORMAL FOR DECEMBER. DECEMBER
2006 RANKED AS THE 2ND DRIEST DECEMBER ON RECORD AT JACKSON...WHILE
LONDON SAW LAST MONTH FINISH UP AS THE 14TH DRIEST.

TAKING A LOOK BACK AT THE ANNUAL WEATHER STATISTICS FOR 2006...WE
FIND THAT BOTH JACKSON AND LONDON ENDED UP WARMER THAN NORMAL.
LONDON AVERAGED 57.3 DEGREES FOR THE YEAR...WHICH IS 1.3 DEGREES
ABOVE NORMAL. AT JACKSON...THE MEAN TEMPERATURE FOR 2006 WAS 58.0
DEGREES...WHICH IS 2.1 DEGREES WARMER THAN NORMAL. BOTH JACKSON AND
LONDON SAW THEIR MEAN TEMPERATURES RANK AS THE FIFTH WARMEST AT EACH
LOCATION. ALTHOUGH THE LONDON CORBIN AIRPORT HAD AN UNKNOWN
PRECIPITATION TOTAL FOR THE YEAR DUE TO A FAULTY SENSOR...THE
JACKSON WEATHER OFFICE RECEIVED 45.63 INCHES DURING 2006. THIS
AMOUNT IS 3.75 INCHES BELOW THE NORMAL OF 49.38 INCHES FOR THE YEAR.
2006 RANKS AS THE TENTH DRIEST YEAR AT JACKSON AS WELL.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE NEAR JACKSON FINISHED DECEMBER
2006 WITH AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 44.3 DEGREES...WHICH IS 6.0
DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THE AVERAGE DAILY HIGH WAS 53.5 DEGREES...AND
THE AVERAGE DAILY LOW WAS 35.0 DEGREES. THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE FOR

MONTH. A MINIMUM HIGH TEMPERATURE RECORD WAS ESTABLISHED ON THE 8TH
