Monthly High Temperature Records Fall Across The Area on March 25, 2007

THANKS TO AN UNSEASONABLY WARM WEATHER PATTERN RESIDING OVER THE
REGION FOR THE PAST SEVERAL DAYS...MANY LOCATIONS RECORDED THEIR
WARMEST EVER MARCH TEMPERATURES. THE LONDON CORBIN AIRPORT HAD A
HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 87 DEGREES ON SUNDAY. THIS READING INCINERATED
THEIR PREVIOUS MARCH MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE RECORD OF 84 DEGREES. THE
OLD RECORD WAS ESTABLISHED ON MARCH 31ST IN 1963...AND WAS EQUALED
ON THREE OTHER OCCASIONS...MARCH 13TH 1967...MARCH 15TH 1977 AND ON
SATURDAY. CLIMATE DATA FOR LONDON DATES BACK TO 1954. IN ADDITION TO
LONDON RECORDING THEIR HIGHEST MARCH TEMPERATURE...SEVERAL EASTERN
KENTUCKY COOPERATIVE WEATHER OBSERVERS EXPERIENCED SOME OF THEIR
HIGHEST MARCH TEMPERATURES AS WELL.

THE COOPERATIVE WEATHER OBSERVER AT BAXTER IN HARLAN COUNTY NOTED A
HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 85 DEGREES YESTERDAY. THE PREVIOUS MARCH HIGH

MARCH MAXIMUM RECORD WAS 84 DEGREES FROM 1989. CLIMATE DATA AT
STEARNS BEGAN IN 1980.

THE FOLLOWING COOPERATIVE WEATHER OBSERVERS ALSO RECORDED THEIR
HIGHEST MARCH TEMPERATURES...ALTHOUGH THEIR PERIOD OF RECORD IS LESS
THAN 10 YEARS...
