March 2007 Warmest March Ever at Jackson and London

IN CONTRAST TO FEBRUARY 2007 BEING THE COLDEST FEBRUARY ON
RECORD...THE JACKSON WEATHER OFFICE SAW MARCH 2007 REBOUND TO BECOME
THE WARMEST MARCH ON RECORD. MARCH 2007 ALSO WAS THE WARMEST MARCH
AT THE LONDON CORBIN AIRPORT. JACKSON FINISHED UP MARCH OVER SEVEN
DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL...WHILE LONDON WAS EIGHT DEGREES WARMER.
NUMEROUS HIGH TEMPERATURE AND MAXIMUM LOW TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE
SET AT BOTH LOCATIONS LAST MONTH. THE MOST NOTABLE RECORD WAS LONDON
ESTABLISHING A NEW MONTHLY HIGH TEMPERATURE RECORD WITH A READING OF
87 DEGREES ON THE 26TH.

EVEN THOUGH JACKSON AND LONDON MEASURED RECORD BREAKING
PRECIPITATION TOTALS ON MARCH 1ST...BOTH LOCATIONS FINISHED LAST
MONTH WELL DRIER THAN NORMAL. THE LONDON CORBIN AIRPORT FELL NEARLY
ONE AND A HALF INCHES SHORT OF THE NORMAL TOTAL FOR MARCH. THE
JACKSON WEATHER OFFICE WAS ABOUT ONE AND THREE QUARTERS INCHES DRIER
LAST MONTH. MARCH 2007 WAS THE FIFTH MONTH IN A ROW THAT JACKSON AND
LONDON HAS SEEN BELOW NORMAL PRECIPITATION. SINCE NOVEMBER
1ST...JACKSON HAS RECEIVED 11.20 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION WHICH IS
8.89 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. LONDON HAS TOTALED 11.86 INCHES OF
PRECIPITATION SINCE THE BEGINNING OF NOVEMBER...WHICH IS 8.69 INCHES
DRIER THAN NORMAL.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE NEAR JACKSON FINISHED MARCH 2007
WITH AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 54.2 DEGREES...WHICH IS 7.1 DEGREES
ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 47.1 DEGREES. THE AVERAGE DAILY HIGH WAS 64.7
DEGREES...AND THE AVERAGE DAILY LOW WAS 43.6 DEGREES. THE HIGHEST
TEMPERATURE FOR MARCH 2007 WAS 84 DEGREES AND OCCURRED ON THE
25TH....AND ALSO SET A NEW DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE RECORD FOR THAT
DATE. OTHER DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE RECORDS OCCURRED ON...THE 23RD
WITH 80 DEGREES...THE 24TH WITH 83 DEGREES...AND ON THE 26TH WITH 81
DEGREES. THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE FROM LAST MONTH WAS 22
DEGREES...WHICH HAPPENED ON THE 4TH. NO LOW TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE
SET OR TIED DURING MARCH 2007. NEW MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE
ESTABLISHED ON FIVE DATES LAST MONTH...THE 22ND...AND FROM THE 24TH
THROUGH THE 27TH. IN ADDITION...MARCH 2007 WAS THE WARMEST MARCH ON
RECORD AT JACKSON...EASILY SURPASSING THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 52.1
DEGREES FROM MARCH 2000.

THE JACKSON WEATHER OFFICE RECEIVED 2.71 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION IN
MARCH 2007...WHICH IS 1.67 INCHES BELOW THE NORMAL OF 4.38 INCHES.
THERE WERE NINE DAYS WHEN A HUNDREDTH OF AN INCH OR MORE OF
PRECIPITATION WAS RECORDED...AND SIX DAYS WHEN A TENTH OF AN INCH OR
MORE FELL. THERE WAS ONE DAY WHEN AT LEAST A HALF AN INCH OF RAIN
WAS RECEIVED...AND ONE DAY SAW MORE THAN ONE INCH. THE DAY OF THE

MARCH. SNOW WAS NOTED ON FOUR DAYS AT JACKSON LAST MONTH...WITH
THREE DAYS RECEIVING AT LEAST A TENTH OF AN INCH. THE GREATEST
SNOWFALL IN A SINGLE DAY WAS 0.5 INCHES AND OCCURRED ON THE 4TH.
