ACROSS EASTERN KENTUCKY. THE JACKSON WEATHER OFFICE ENDED LAST MONTH
WITH TEMPERATURES AVERAGING NEAR TWO DEGREES BELOW NORMAL...WHILE
LONDON WAS AROUND ONE DEGREE COOLER. ON THE PRECIPITATION SIDE OF
THE FENCE...JACKSON AND LONDON SAW MAY CLOSE WITH TOTALS WELL BELOW
NORMAL. LONDON ENDED UP OVER ONE INCH DRIER...WHILE JACKSON FINISHED
LAST MONTH NEARLY TWO INCHES BELOW NORMAL.

THE END OF MAY ALSO MARKED THE END OF THE 2008 METEOROLOGICAL SPRING
SEASON. OVER THE MONTHS OF MARCH...APRIL AND MAY...THE JACKSON
WEATHER OFFICE AVERAGED 55.2 DEGREES...WHICH IS 0.6 DEGREES BELOW
NORMAL. SPRING 2008 WAS THE 7TH COOLEST SPRING OF ALL TIME AT
JACKSON. AT LONDON...THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE DURING THE SPRING
MONTHS WAS 55.3 DEGREES...WHICH IS 0.3 DEGREES COOLER. MUCH BELOW
