THANKS TO A LATE NOVEMBER WARM UP...BOTH THE JACKSON WEATHER OFFICE
AND THE LONDON CORBIN AIRPORT FINISHED UP NOVEMBER 2006 WARMER THAN
NORMAL. LONDON WAS NEARLY THREE DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL...AND JACKSON
WAS OVER A DEGREE WARMER. AFTER A SHORT RUN OF A COUPLE OF WETTER
THAN NORMAL MONTHS...JACKSON AND LONDON SAW NOVEMBER PRECIPITATION
TOTALS FALL SHORT OF NORMAL. LONDON WAS ALMOST ONE INCH DRIER THAN
NORMAL...WHILE JACKSON WAS OVER ONE AND THREE QUARTERS OF INCH BELOW
NORMAL. ALSO OF NOTE...PORTIONS OF EASTERN KENTUCKY THAT DIDN/T SEE
ANY SNOW FLURRIES LAST MONTH...LIKELY GOT THEIR FIRST GLIMPSE OF
SNOW THIS SNOW SEASON ON NOVEMBER 20TH. MOST AREAS JUST SAW
FLURRIES...ALTHOUGH A FEW LOCATIONS IN SOUTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY
MEASURED A COUPLE OF TENTHS OF AN INCH.

THE END OF NOVEMBER ALSO MARKED THE END OF METEOROLOGICAL FALL.
JACKSON ENDED UP WITH AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 55.6 DEGREES...WHICH
IS 2.1 DEGREES BELOW THE NORMAL OF 57.7 DEGREES. THANKS TO A COOL
SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER...FALL 2006 WAS THE THIRD COOLEST FALL AT
JACKSON. AT LONDON...THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR FALL WAS 57.1
DEGREES...WHICH IS ONE DEGREE BELOW THE NORMAL OF 57.1 DEGREES. ON
THE PRECIPITATION SIDE OF THE FENCE...BOTH JACKSON AND LONDON ENDED
UP WITH THEIR 7TH WETTEST AUTUMN. JACKSON MEASURED 14.31 INCHES
WHICH IS 3.16 INCHES ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 11.15 INCHES. LONDON
TOTALED 13.88 INCHES DURING SEPTEMBER...OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER...WHICH
IS 3.81 INCHES WETTER THAN THE NORMAL OF 10.07 INCHES.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE NEAR JACKSON FINISHED NOVEMBER
2006 WITH AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 48.9 DEGREES...WHICH IS 1.2
DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THE AVERAGE DAILY HIGH WAS 57.5 DEGREES...AND
THE AVERAGE DAILY LOW WAS 40.2 DEGREES. THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE FOR
NOVEMBER 2006 WAS 76 DEGREES AND OCCURRED ON THE 10TH. THE LOWEST
TEMPERATURE FROM LAST MONTH WAS 25 DEGREES...WHICH HAPPENED ON THE
25TH. NO DAILY HIGH OR LOW TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE SET OR TIED AT
JACKSON LAST MONTH. A MINIMUM HIGH TEMPERATURE RECORD WAS TIED ON
THE 3RD WITH A TEMPERATURE OF 44 DEGREES. 59 DEGREES ON THE 29TH AND

THUNDER WAS HEARD 1 DAY LAST MONTH AT THE JACKSON WEATHER
OFFICE...WHICH IS JUST ABOVE THE AVERAGE OF 1.1 DAYS FOR NOVEMBER.
THERE WERE 13 DAYS WITH FOG...4 OF WHICH FEATURED DENSE FOG.
