KENTUCKY FOR YET ANOTHER MONTH. LONDON ENDED LAST MONTH ALMOST THREE
INCHES BELOW NORMAL...WHILE JACKSON DID END UP OVER THREE INCHES
DRIER. IN FACT...THE LONDON CORBIN AIRPORT SAW SEPTEMBER 2008 FINISH
AS THE DRIEST SEPTEMBER ON RECORD...WITH LAST MONTH/S TOTAL AT THE
JACKSON WEATHER OFFICE ENDING UP AS THE SECOND DRIEST SEPTEMBER ON
RECORD. FURTHERMORE...SEPTEMBER 2008 WAS THE THIRD DRIEST MONTH OF
ALL TIME AT BOTH LOCATIONS. TEMPERATUREWISE...SEPTEMBER 2008 RANKED
IN THE TOP TEN WARMEST SEPTEMBERS ON RECORD...WITH JACKSON TYING FOR
FOURTH WARMEST...AND LONDON IN SEVENTH PLACE. BOTH LOCATIONS ENDED
LAST MONTH A LITTLE OVER THREE AND A HALF DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE NEAR JACKSON FINISHED SEPTEMBER
2008 WITH AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 71.6 DEGREES...WHICH IS 3.7
DEGREES ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 67.9 DEGREES. THE AVERAGE DAILY HIGH WAS
82.2 DEGREES...AND THE AVERAGE DAILY LOW WAS 60.9 DEGREES. SEPTEMBER
2008 TIED 2002 AS THE FOURTH WARMEST SEPTEMBER ON RECORD. THE
HIGHEST TEMPERATURE FOR SEPTEMBER 2008 WAS 92 DEGREES...WHICH
OCCURRED ON THE 1ST...AND SET THE ONLY DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE RECORD
LAST MONTH. THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE LAST MONTH WAS 52 DEGREES ON THE
29TH. NO LOW TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE SET OR TIED LAST MONTH.
ADDITIONALLY...A MAXIMUM LOW TEMPERATURE RECORD WAS ESTABLISHED ON
THE 12TH WITH 71 DEGREES...AND A LOW MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE RECORD WAS
TIED WITH 70 DEGREES ON THE 13TH.

THE JACKSON WEATHER OFFICE RECEIVED ONLY 0.67 INCHES OF
