LAST MONTH ABNORMALLY DRY...ONCE AGAIN. BOTH LOCATIONS ENDED OCTOBER
2008 APPROACHING TWO INCHES DRIER THAN NORMAL. IN FACT...OCTOBER
2008 RANKED AS THE FOURTH DRIEST OCTOBER AT JACKSON AND LONDON.
FURTHERMORE...JACKSON HAS RECEIVED ONLY 3.25 INCHES SINCE AUGUST 1ST
2008...WHICH IS 7.79 INCHES BELOW NORMAL OVER THE LAST THREE MONTHS.
THIS AMOUNT IS THE DRIEST AUGUST THROUGH OCTOBER EVER AT
JACKSON...EASILY OUTDISTANCING THE 4.91 INCHES FROM AUGUST THROUGH
OCTOBER OF 2001. OVER THE LAST SIX MONTHS AT LONDON...ONLY 14.09
INCHES OF PRECIPITATION HAS BEEN MEASURED...WHICH IS 8.76 INCHES
BELOW NORMAL. THIS AMOUNT RANKS AS THE DRIEST MAY THROUGH OCTOBER
PERIOD EVER AT LONDON...BESTING THE 14.32 INCHES FROM 2005.
TEMPERATUREWISE...BOTH LOCATIONS FINISHED OCTOBER 2008 NEARLY
NORMAL...WITH LONDON A FEW TENTHS OF A DEGREE WARMER THAN
NORMAL...AND JACKSON A COUPLE OF TENTHS COOLER.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE NEAR JACKSON FINISHED OCTOBER
2008 WITH AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 57.2 DEGREES...WHICH IS 0.3
DEGREES BELOW THE NORMAL OF 57.5 DEGREES. THE AVERAGE DAILY HIGH WAS
68.2 DEGREES...AND THE AVERAGE DAILY LOW WAS 46.2 DEGREES.
STRANGELY...OCTOBER 2008 WAS THE SEVENTH COOLEST OCTOBER ON RECORD.
THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE FOR OCTOBER 2008 WAS 84 DEGREES...WHICH
OCCURRED ON THE 7TH. A DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE RECORD WAS ESTABLISHED
ON THE 11TH WITH A READING OF 82 DEGREES...AND THE 83 DEGREES ON THE
15TH TIED THE RECORD FOR THAT DATE. THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE LAST
MONTH WAS 30 DEGREES ON THE 29TH AND 30TH...WITH DAILY LOW
