THE JACKSON WEATHER OFFICE AND THE LONDON CORBIN AIRPORT ENDED MARCH
2009 WITH ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES. BOTH LOCATIONS SAW LAST MONTH
WITH AVERAGES NEARLY TWO DEGREES WARMER THAN NORMAL. THERE WERE
LARGE DIFFERENCES IN PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS BETWEEN JACKSON AND
LONDON. WHILE LONDON FINISHED LAST MONTH ABOUT TWO TENTHS OF AN INCH
ABOVE NORMAL...JACKSON ENDED MARCH WITH A TOTAL ALMOST AN INCH DRIER
THAN NORMAL...AND OVER AN INCH AND A QUARTER LESS THAN LONDON. EVEN
THOUGH THE JACKSON WEATHER OFFICE FINISHED LAST MONTH DRIER THAN
NORMAL...MARCH 2009 WAS THE FIFTH SNOWIEST MARCH ON RECORD.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE NEAR JACKSON FINISHED MARCH
2009 WITH AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 49.0 DEGREES...WHICH IS 1.9
DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THE AVERAGE DAILY HIGH WAS 58.5 DEGREES...AND
THE AVERAGE DAILY LOW WAS 39.5 DEGREES. THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE FOR
MARCH 2009 WAS 78 DEGREES...WHICH OCCURRED ON THE 7TH...AND SET THE
ONLY DAILY MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE RECORD. THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE FOR

JACKSON. THE ONLY COLDER DAYS WERE MARCH 15TH 1993 WITH 8
DEGREES...AND MARCH 9TH 1996 WITH 7 DEGREES. DAILY MINIMUM HIGH
TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE SET ON THE 2ND AND 3RD WITH READINGS OF 27
AND 32 DEGREES RESPECTIVELY. ONE MAXIMUM LOW TEMPERATURE RECORD WAS
ESTABLISHED LAST MONTH...59 DEGREES ON THE 8TH.
