Map and Details of EF-1 Tornado in Wolfe County

A National Weather Service Storm Survey team confirmed that an EF-1 tornado touched down in Wolfe County around 7:37 AM on Monday, February 28th, 2011. The tornado stayed on the ground for less than one minute as it crossed Kentucky Highway 1419 just south of the Mountain Parkway and north of Gilmore, Kentucky.

The tornado ripped the roof off of one mobile home while moving it about 5 feet off of its foundation. Two additional mobile homes had their roof and siding torn off. One barn was completely destroyed by the tornado, as was another small buidling that was used as a sawmill. Many trees were snapped or uprooted as well.
