Thanks to folks from the Laurel Amateur Radio Society, Paintsville Amateur Radio Club, & Kentucky Mountains Amateur Radio Clubs for making the 2011 edition of SKYWARN® Recognition Day a success.  Volunteers from each of these clubs manned amateur radios during the event, which ran from 7 pm EST Friday December 2nd through 7 pm EST Saturday December 3rd, 2011.  Contacts were made as far away as Idaho and Nevada, and preliminary counts indicate a total of 36 National Weather Service Offices were contacted, a SKYWARN® Recognition Day record for NWS Jackson, KY.
