THE END OF MAY BRINGS THE END TO METEOROLOGICAL SPRING. THANKS TO A
RECORD SETTING MARCH AND WARM MAY...JACKSON AND LONDON SAW SPRING
2012 GO DOWN AS THE WARMEST SPRING ON RECORD. THE JACKSON WEATHER
OFFICE AVERAGED 62.0 DEGREES...WHICH IS 5.6 DEGREES ABOVE THE SPRING
NORMAL OF 56.4 DEGREES. THE LONDON CORBIN AIRPORT ENDED UP WITH AN
AVERAGE OF 60.9 DEGREES OVER MARCH...APRIL AND MAY...WHICH IS 4.7
DEGREES ABOVE THE SPRING NORMAL OF 56.2 DEGREES. THE PREVIOUS RECORD
WARMEST SPRING WAS 60.2 DEGREES IN 1991 FOR BOTH LOCATIONS. JACKSON
AND LONDON WERE VERY DRY AS WELL. JACKSON FINISHED SPRING WITH A
TOTAL OF 10.94 INCHES...WHICH IS 2.21 INCHES BELOW NORMAL AND ALSO
THE FIFTH DRIEST SPRING ON RECORD. LONDON HAD A SPRING TOTAL OF
11.73 INCHES...WHICH IS 1.55 INCHES DRIER THAN NORMAL.

MAY SAW VERY WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS EXPERIENCED AT BOTH JACKSON AND
LONDON. JACKSON WAS FOUR AND A HALF DEGREES WARMER THAN
NORMAL...WHILE LONDON WAS A LITTLE OVER THREE AND A HALF DEGREES
ABOVE NORMAL. IT WAS THE FOURTH WARMEST MAY AT JACKSON. LONDON TIED
MAY 2004 FOR THE FIFTH WARMEST MAY. ON THE PRECIPITATION SIDE OF THE
FENCE...DRY CONDITIONS WERE NOTED AT JACKSON AND LONDON. JACKSON WAS
ONE INCH BELOW NORMAL WHILE LONDON WAS NEARLY A HALF AN INCH DRIER.
IN FACT...IT WAS THE EIGHTH DRIEST MAY AT JACKSON.
