NORMAL. IN ADDITION TO BOTH LOCATIONS SEEING THEIR WARMEST MARCH
EVER...JACKSON AND LONDON ALSO SCORED THEIR WARMEST DAILY
TEMPERATURES EVER. THE LONDON CORBIN AIRPORT SOARED TO 105 DEGREES
BACK ON JUNE 29TH...WHILE THE JACKSON WEATHER OFFICE HIT 104 DEGREES
THE SAME DAY. JACKSON HAD A MEAN TEMPERATURE FOR 2012 OF 58.6
DEGREES...WHICH IS 2.0 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. 2012 ALSO TIED 1990 FOR
THE WARMEST YEAR AS WELL. LONDON FINISHED LAST YEAR WITH A MEAN
TEMPERATURE OF 57.9 DEGREES...WHICH WAS 1.2 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.
2012 WAS THE FOURTH WARMEST YEAR AT LONDON. JACKSON ALSO ENDED LAST
YEAR WITH A PRECIPITATION TOTAL OF 51.99 INCHES...WHICH IS 3.65
INCHES ABOVE NORMAL...GOOD ENOUGH FOR THE 14TH WETTEST YEAR. LONDON
TOTALED 45.95 INCHES...WHICH IS 1.19 INCHES DRIER THAN NORMAL.

DECEMBER 2012 SAW WARM AND VERY WET CONDITIONS ACROSS EASTERN
KENTUCKY. JACKSON FINISHED LAST MONTH OVER FIVE AND A HALF DEGREES
ABOVE NORMAL...WHILE LONDON WAS FOUR AND A HALF DEGREES WARMER. IN
FACT...IT WAS THE FOURTH WARMEST DECEMBER AT JACKSON AND THE TENTH
WARMEST AT LONDON. ON THE PRECIPITATION SIDE OF THE FENCE...THE
JACKSON WEATHER OFFICE ENDED DECEMBER WELL OVER TWO INCHES ABOVE
NORMAL...WHILE THE LONDON CORBIN AIRPORT WAS OVER AN INCH AND A HALF
WETTER. BOTH LOCATIONS SAW DECEMBER 2012 PLACE IN THE TOP TEN
WETTEST DECEMBERS...WITH JACKSON AT FOURTH AND LONDON AT EIGHTH.

OF FOUR CONSECUTIVE MONTHS WITH BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES. DECEMBER
2012 WAS THE FOURTH WARMEST DECEMBER AS WELL. THE AVERAGE DAILY HIGH
WAS 50.9 DEGREES...AND THE AVERAGE DAILY LOW WAS 36.4 DEGREES. THE
HIGHEST TEMPERATURE FOR DECEMBER 2012 WAS 72 DEGREES...WHICH
OCCURRED ON THE 3RD. THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE FROM LAST MONTH WAS 23
DEGREES ON THE 30TH. NO HIGH OR LOW TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE SET OR
TIED LAST MONTH. ALSO OF INTEREST...TWO DAILY MAXIMUM LOW
TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE SET LAST MONTH...53 DEGREES ON BOTH THE 9TH
AND THE 16TH.
