Record Cold Morning Across East Kentucky Monday

East Kentucky had a chilly Monday morning of record low temperatures thanks to high pressure that brought in a cool air mass and cleared the sky. Most locations fell to the lower and middle 50s along with several reports of temperatures bottoming out in the upper 40s.

The NWS office near Jackson had a low temperature of 55 degrees this Monday morning breaking the record of 59 degrees set in 1984 and tied in 1994. Climate records for this location date back to 1981.

The airport at London had a low temperature of 51 degrees this Monday morning breaking the record of 58 degrees set in 1978 and tied in 2004. Climate records for this location date back to 1954.
