THE MONTH OF OCTOBER ENDED WITH DRY CONDITIONS AT THE JACKSON
WEATHER OFFICE...WHILE IT WAS WETTER THAN NORMAL AT THE LONDON
CORBIN AIRPORT. JACKSON WAS OVER AN INCH DRIER...AND LONDON WAS A
HALF AN INCH WETTER. IN FACT...IT WAS THE TENTH DRIEST OCTOBER AT
JACKSON. ALSO OF INTEREST...THE JACKSON WEATHER OFFICE RECORDED ITS
FOURTH MEASURABLE OCTOBER SNOWFALL SINCE IT OPENED IN 1981. ON THE
TEMPERATURE SIDE OF THE FENCE...THE LONDON CORBIN AIRPORT WAS MUCH
WARMER THAN NORMAL...WHILE THE JACKSON WEATHER OFFICE WAS JUST ABOVE
NORMAL. LONDON WAS OVER ONE DEGREE WARMER...AND JACKSON WAS JUST A
COUPLE OF TENTHS ABOVE NORMAL. OF FURTHER NOTE...OCTOBER 2013 WAS
THE TENTH WARMEST OCTOBER EVER AT LONDON.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE NEAR JACKSON FINISHED OCTOBER
2013 WITH AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 58.4 DEGREES...WHICH IS 0.3
DEGREES ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 58.1 DEGREES. THE AVERAGE DAILY HIGH WAS
67.3 DEGREES...AND THE AVERAGE DAILY LOW WAS 49.4 DEGREES. THE
HIGHEST TEMPERATURE FOR OCTOBER 2013 WAS 85 DEGREES...AND OCCURRED
ON THE 5TH. NO HIGH TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE SET OR TIED LAST MONTH.
THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE FROM OCTOBER 2013 WAS 29 DEGREES ON THE
26TH...AND SET THE ONLY LOW TEMPERATURE RECORD LAST MONTH AS WELL.
THERE WAS ONE MAXIMUM LOW TEMPERATURE RECORD SET ...61 DEGREES ON

THE JACKSON WEATHER OFFICE RECEIVED 2.13 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION IN
OCTOBER 2013...WHICH IS 1.06 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. LAST MONTH WAS
TIED FOR THE TENTH DRIEST OCTOBER AT JACKSON WITH 1991. THERE WERE
12 DAYS WHEN A HUNDREDTH OF AN INCH OR MORE OF PRECIPITATION WAS
RECORDED...AND SEVEN DAYS WHEN A TENTH OF AN INCH OR MORE FELL.

THIS WAS ONLY THE FOURTH TIME IN THE LAST 33 YEARS THAT MEASURABLE
SNOW FELL IN OCTOBER...AND ONLY THE EIGHTH TIME THAT THERE WAS ANY
SNOW IN OCTOBER SINCE 1981.
