A storm system with loads of moisture brought bouts of heavy rain to the region starting Thursday night and continuing through much of Friday. Rainfall totals through Saturday morning mostly ranged from 2 to 3 and a half inches with some locally higher totals. The above map illustrates precipitation totals across Eastern Kentucky over the last two days...ending 7 am Saturday.
More precipitation is expected starting late tonight or early Sunday morning. Look for a wintery mix to move into the coal fields during the pre-dawn hours before changing to rain later Sunday. More heavy rain is anticipated with this next round of precipitation as well.
