APRIL 2016 BEGAN ON A DRY AND WARM NOTE ACROSS WESTERN AND NORTH
CENTRAL NEBRASKA. TEMPERATURES FOR THE FIRST HALF OF THE MONTH WERE
WELL ABOVE NORMAL AND LITTLE OR NO PRECIPITATION FELL DURING THE
FIRST HALF OF THE MONTH. ON THE WEEKEND OF APRIL 16TH AND 17TH...A SLOW
MOVING UPPER LEVEL LOW SPREAD WIDESPREAD RAIN TO WESTERN AND
NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA. THIS WAS FOLLOWED BY A SECOND SYSTEM APRIL
29TH AND 30TH. TEMPERATURES WERE GENERALLY NEAR NORMAL...TO BELOW NORMAL
DURING THE LATTER HALF OF THE MONTH.

FOR NORTH PLATTE...THE AVERAGE DAILY MEAN TEMPERATURE FOR APRIL WAS
48.9 DEGREES WHICH WAS 1.3 DEGREES ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 47.6 DEGREES.
THE AVERAGE DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE FOR APRIL WAS 62.5 DEGREES...WHICH
WAS 0.3 DEGREES ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 62.2 DEGREES.
THE AVERAGE DAILY HIGH RANKED AS THE 5TH WARMEST ON RECORD. THE AVERAGE
DAILY LOW TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH WAS 35.3 DEGREES...WHICH WAS 2.3
DEGREES ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 33.0 DEGREES. NO DAILY TEMPERATURE RECORDS
WERE SET DURING THE MONTH OF APRIL AT NORTH PLATTE.

FOR VALENTINE...THE AVERAGE DAILY MEAN TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH OF
APRIL WAS 48.1 DEGREES...AND WAS 1.4 DEGREES ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 46.7
DEGREES. THE AVERAGE DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH WAS 60.6
DEGREES...WHICH WAS 0.3 DEGREES ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 60.3 DEGREES.
THE AVERAGE DAILY LOW TEMPERATURE WAS 35.7 DEGREES...WHICH WAS 2.7

WETTEST APRIL ON RECORD FOR VALENTINE. SNOWFALL FOR THE MONTH WAS 1.5
