As dry as it has been, any rain will be quite welcome. However, a slow-moving boundary late this evening may bring heavy to locally excessive rain to some portions of southern Indiana and central Kentucky.
The image below shows areas along the Ohio River under a slight threat for locally excessive rains. This image is generated by the Weather Prediction Center and covers the 24 hour period ending Monday morning at 8 am.
The two images below show both the 24-hour and the 48-hour forecast rainfall amounts across the Lower Ohio Valley. Actual rainfall amounts are uncertain, but it looks increasingly likely that a strip of 1 to locally as much as 3 inches may fall along a somewhat narrow east to west corridor somewhere in the Kentuckiana region. This period of heavy rain will most likely develop from late this evening through Monday morning.
