Torrential rainfall and flash flooding has occurred across south-central Indiana and north-central Kentucky! Flash flood warnings are in effect for the following counties:
Several water rescues have been reported by local media. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO FLOODED ROADWAYS! For your own safety, the water may be too great to determine the depth of the water, especially at night. Move to higher ground immediately if you are located in the counties listed above. A FLOOD EMERGENCY statement has also been issued for the flooded areas:

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM EARLIER TRAINING THUNDERSTORMS OVER SOUTH- CENTRAL INDIANA AND NORTH-CENTRAL KENTUCKY WILL CONTINUE TO POSE A SERIOUS FLASH FLOOD THREAT ACROSS THE KENTUCKIANA REGION THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. EXTENSIVE FLOODING IS STILL BEING REPORTED OVER CLARK COUNTY INDIANA WITH FLOYD COUNTY INDIANA AND JEFFERSON COUNTY KENTUCKY STILL EXPERIENCING FLOOD PROBLEMS AS WELL. TRAINED SPOTTER REPORTS AND DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATES INDICATE THAT THREE TO SIX INCHES OF RAINFALL...AND PERHAPS LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS...HAVE FALLEN SINCE ROUGHLY 3PM SUNDAY AFTERNOON. THIS HEAVY RAINFALL AND RESULTANT FLASH FLOODING HAS LED TO COUNTLESS ROADWAYS BEING CLOSED OR IMPASSABLE. WITH THE FLOODED ROADWAYS OVERNIGHT...THIS POSES AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR ANYONE IN THE FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO FLOODED ROADWAYS TONIGHT. IT IS TOO DIFFICULT TO DETERMINE THE DEPTH OF THE WATER. IF WATER IS OVER ROADWAYS...TURN AROUND AND MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND. EVEN IF THE RAIN HAS ENDED IN YOUR AREA...FLASH FLOODING AND IMPASSABLE ROADWAYS WILL STILL PREVAIL.
